A repeating cycle of 3 years.
How can I reject a person with whom I want to share my days, who I am happy to see and I feel free to be myself with?
And somehow, the same person chooses to be with me only sometimes, only give the 5 % of his entire year?
It`s a pain in my heart.
The idea with reusable menstrual pads started 3 years ago as well, made the first pads in the same week I met the guy.
Never know when an ordinary day becomes one which defined the next years.
Over the past years I was trying and failing, pausing and starting again with this initiative. The questioning is not about the product at all. It is about: how to make a sustainable bussiness, for a person who has no experience with bussiness at all.
First year was about marketing: I was afraid to make the simplest post about it. Afraid of critique and rejection. The point is: NO ONE CARES ! In order to get sales the product needs to be seen A LOT and REPEATEDLY. Educating the custumer, being seen by many people, receiving positive and negative feedback, all together makes something to move on. The first year I was so afraid of public opinion that I barely posted anything.
I gave pads for free and to the wrong people. Which made me feel like I do something wrong - because those people were not my target customer. I questioned the product - when I needed to question who is my ideal customer.
Year 2: I paid for a mentorship program in enterpreneurship: the man said: with this product YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE MONEY. And I believed him. Sadly, so, I tried focusing on something else. Went to photography, which I also enjoyed from teenage years - but here - I also dont know how to make money on freelance.
So the key ability - to sell - is a missing one yet.
Year 3:
Somehow I got a sale through a channel I set up a year ago. This got me enough motivated to make videos and photos. Was already more free with posting and making stories on socials, so this time I felt more free to make it public. And I got a few more sales - through socials and personally. Everytime it felt motivating and exciting. It was partly by chance. Still not sure how it worked out. But it gave me hope to go on.
Funny enough - this ex guy send me a reel with the eco enterpreneurship project and said TRY. And I tried. He didnt speak with me, but sent this opportunity which happened to be exactly what I needed.
Year 4 starting:
Found a fabric wholesaler in turkey, who also can laminate (make a fabric waterproof).
Connected with a CoFounder of a social enterprise making reusable pads in India for the past 15 years, will have a call soon to give questions bothering me.
The mentorship program for the ecological project starting in a few days.
The insight by now is: I NEED PEOPLE in order to make it happen. I need a team, I need to be surrounded by people, I need to communicate with lots of people.
Because I didnt have a plan and it was my first time on a road trip I lost money on the vignettes, insurance and road taxes where normally I could avoid that, unfortunatelly. A bit annoyed.
When got to Istanbul - was very overwhelmed by all the people around, the smells of smoke everywhere, food I didnt like, or missing fibre in food. Beatifull indeed. 1 hour communte to and from. Puff.
Got a flat tire for the first time. And the trick was not even the tire - but the tube from it, cause it was old.
Loved home food much more than restaurant food. The variety of yogurts and cheeses is huuuuge. The omlette made by a turkish man at home. Uuffff so tasty.
But mainly, I didnt get to swimm. My swimming stopped in Moldova, at the lake with the ex.
