As part of the Montevallo CRP's commitment to exploring issues related to racial justice, local high students were invited to participate in a scholarship essay contest. The Racial Justice Essay Contest is an opportunity provided through EJI's Community Remembrance Project, which is dedicated to expanding public memory about our nation’s history of racial injustice to promote truth and reconciliation was open to all high school students in Alabaster, Pelham and Shelby County Schools where prizes totaling $5000 was awarded to winning participants.
