As the children arrive, they are greeted by their teachers and invited to hang up their coats and bags. This is also a time for the children to socialize and interact with each other.
During Circle Time, the teacher will gather the children to sing songs, read a story, and discuss the day’s activities. This is an opportunity for the children to develop listening skills, practice sitting still and focusing their attention.
The Montessori Work Period is a time for the children to choose their own activities and work independently. Teachers are available to guide and assist the children as needed, but the focus is on allowing the child to explore and learn at their own pace.
Children will go outside in most types of weather to play, create, innovate, or engage in gross motor activities
Teachers and children will sit together and participate in a nutritious family-style, 3 course meal. Attention will be given to modelling table manners and etiquette for the children.
Children will be given the choice of engaging in active outdoor activity, or quiet reflective activity while experiencing nature.
As we wrap up the day, we gather for a time of sharing and listening to one another. Children are prompted to share the highs and lows of their day, as well as one thing they learned. Supportive and encouraging responses are welcomed from the children as they listen to one another.
While parents arrive to pick up, children are given a choice of independent table activities or imaginative play activities.
Our activities & schedule may shift according to forecasted weather or special outings.
