Contest Guidelines

All Montclaire South homes are automatically eligible.
Yard of the Month winners do not have to be active members of the Home Owners Association.
Award winners are selected based on the judging criteria below.
An award term lasts for a 30-day period.
The same property cannot receive more than one award in the same calendar year.
Three yards will be selected for each 30-day period.
Contest runs May through September each year.
Only the front yards as viewed from the street or adjacent sidewalk will be judged. Backyards will not be considered, even if visible from the street.

Criteria

Healthy lawn, neatly mowed and edged
Minimal bare spots and weeds in lawn
Pruned and trimmed shrubs and trees
Healthy plants
Minimal weeds in flowerbeds
Yard free of debris and clutter
Overall aesthetic appeal, an inspiration to others in the neighborhood
