My research investigates how the cognitive and social character of categorization decisions affect firm- and market-level outcomes such as competition, entry, and performance returns.

With a strong interest in creative and knowledge-intensive contexts, I have extensively analyzed the evolution of the music industry and the higher education sector.

My research projects have appeared in international peer-reviewed journals and academic conferences.

Most of my projects leverage large-scale data explored through quantitative methods, which I like to support with information obtained through qualitative procedures.
