On Thursday afternoon, we will visit Casa Vasari Museum, dedicated to Giorgio Vasari (Arezzo, 1511 – Florence, 1574), art historian and multifaceted artist, author of The Lives (Vite de' più eccellenti pittori, scultori e architettori italiani, da Cimabue insino a' tempi nostri, 1550), an essential source of artistic historiography.
Vasari was very attached to his hometown, where he purchased the building in 1541, now home to the museum of the same name. The visit provides an insight into one of the few preserved examples of a late Renaissance artist's house.
The Museum is approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the Conference Venue, located in Via XX Settembre, 55.
Free of charge to conference speakers.
