Much of my work is now taken up with the polycrisis. I work with Jolene Armstrong, Angela Joosse, Hendrick de Haan, with Mark Terry and Lai-Tze Fan, to find ways of communicating about the ongoing climate disaster, and will be resubmitting an ambitious SSHRC grant that will support extensive research and exhibitions. This multidisciplinary team uses big data modelling, and documentary methods (contact mics, heat cameras, and surveillance cameras) to try to expose the unnoticed. As we did with the Decameron 2.0 and Memory Eternal, which responded to the crisis of the pandemic, we bring our philosophical, literary, and historical backgrounds to bear.
With Jolene, I have exhibited environmental sound projects, installation art, and interactive documentary, and with Hendrick de Haan, I toured a film about water that won best environmental documentary at two festivals (Aquaphoria (before the waters rise).
