SP, sportpulse.net, was a sports web magazine focused on news and headlines about cricket, tennis, soccer, hockey, F1, and other sports. Its writers were from based across the world, who passionately wrote in-depth content and stories on sports and players — either as assigned or as per match schedules.
How did it all begin?
I am glad you asked. I got this job offer immediately after I wrote my first-ever article on Cricket on my blog, Planet "M". When I was promoting my article on Twitter, I also sent it to the Cricket Editor of this very site.
He quickly responded, provided his feedback, and within a week I got published on SP. Ting!
My role at SportPulse
I was responsible for covering news and matches as assigned + weekly features in as Mona's Diary (my own column for SP).
I also helped the founders in improving website's readership via social media integration, etc.
Responsibilities
Writing match previews and reports as assigned.
Weekly column for my dedicated blog on SP, in as Mona's Diary.
Re-publishing content pieces on my sports blog, Planet "M", for keeping a record of my work and exhibit my skills.

Suggested the founders to activate and regularly update SP's Google+ channel to find new audience whilst improving SEO.
Suggested the founders to add SP's Twitter handle in the website code so whenever an article is shared on Twitter, it links back to SP's Twitter account.
Achievements
I would say, I tremendously improved myself as a writer at SP. The readership of my first article was 1K-plus within few hours. And it was more of a regular thing for my weekly columns.
I started cricinfo-style data analysis content stories and series preview + review features, which worked in my favour given all those articles brought-in a lot of engagement; not just in terms of views but also in comments. (Plus, there were instances where I wrote the article first and cricinfo copied the same story idea at a later time.)
It was fascinating to see how a website covers LIVE events online, with a remote staff. Driving readers to website is indeed a daunting task. Working in punishing schedule was also a challenge, but that's what sports journalism has to offer you.
In all sanity, I wrote 16 articles that received 18,000+ readership; out of which 10 crossed 1,000-read mark within few hours.
