CricketSoccer was a cricket and soccer dedicated blogging website, first of its kind. Based out of Singapore, it was home to world's renowned sports journalists as its contributing writers.
How did it all begin?
I was part of the founding team when CS started back in September 2012. Its Editor approached me for a role to cover cricket from an Indian perspective.
The Founder was impressed with my previous content writing work, and offered me a role in his company. I was the first female employee of the company. Tee-hee!
My role at CricketSoccer
As a columnist, I was responsible for writing cricket-related articles on a weekly basis.
I was also in-charge of looking after cricket department's operational activities like hiring and on-boarding new writers, etc.
Providing support to newcomers with their queries.
Promoting my published articles on social media via outreaching.
Re-publishing articles on my sports blog, Planet "M", for keeping a record of my work and exhibit my skills.
Key takeaways

Opportunity to work alongside renowned sports journalists from across the globe.
How to design a website from scratch with a web developer in a supportive role.
First hands-on experience of hiring and on-boarding new recruits for a company / brand.
Achievements
I took my cricket writing to the next level by creating unique content pieces to match the work of proven sports journalists working for the company. Overall, it was a great learning experience.
I mostly focused on writing analytical pieces and articles in essay / narrative style for players and teams.
I also assisted the founder, the website editor & the web developer in finalising website's name, logo, navigation, and design.
With them, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the brilliant minds in sports journalism — both naïve and experienced — from across the globe.
