I am an educator with multicultural experience and a passion for promoting cultural diversity and equity. I have designed learner-centered, equity-focused courses by integrating diverse perspectives, experiences, and Universal Design. I have always foregrounded accessibility and a variety of learning modalities in course design. I have mentored students and faculty from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including students with disabilities and learning differences, students from low-income families, first-generation students, nontraditional learners, and international students. To empower all students, I have designed curricula with activities that prioritize the development of intercultural competence, problem solving, and creativity.
Building on my teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer at the Ohio State University and my training in educational studies, I am helping faculty in transitioning to the Canvas Learning Management System and I serve as an integral part of University Learning Experience Design Group at Willamette University. I provide customized one-on-one consultations and group workshops, both in-person and online.
I like hiking and traveling, and I am often accompanied by my golden retriever, Lorca.
