Ph.D., Mónica Hernández Flórez
I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at Universidad EAFIT, Medellín, Colombia. Previously I was a Research Associate at the Tennessee Education Research Alliance (TERA) at Vanderbilt University. I completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Education Research Alliance for New Orleans at Tulane University in 2018 and earned my Ph.D. in Economics and Public Policy from The University of Michigan in 2016.
I am broadly interested in understanding the non-academic factors that affect children's educational outcomes. In current research projects, I study the educational outcomes of homeless students and the effect of an immigration raid on students' education and health outcomes.
