To explore one’s creativity without fear or boundary at an early age is the closest thing to real life magic. For me, bright colored acrylic strokes across a blank canvas and reading through the Werewolf section of Wattpad led to my first real love of storytelling. I made sense of reality by dabbling with pastels, paints and photographs and by creating fictional worlds and characters on both paper and mixed media. In this way, I began to find my voice and also my identity through Art.
In High School, I had the opportunity of choosing my own educational path. Through the Communications Academy, I was offered the chance to further advance my passion for storytelling through a variety of classes such as Video Production, Journalism, Communications and Foundations of Art. Learning to write about other people’s stories and about things that really matter in my community in the Newspaper club after school, I also found a newfound confidence in my creativity and public speaking. Using these skills in my pursuit of a Graphic Design and Visual Arts degree in college, I hope to get one step closer to achieving my dream of being a Content Creator.
My biggest supporter when it comes to my art has been my father. He has taught me that dedication and determination are the only ways to achieve success.
