Studio Classes

In-Person Instruction at our Liberty Station Studio

Monart offers a limited schedule of on-going weekly studio classes for different age & skill levels.
Tuition is paid by the month, space is limited & seats are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

BASICS
Ages 6-8


Tuesday Evening / 4:15pm – 5:15pm
Dates: May 7, 14, 21, 28
60min Class @ $23/per class = $92  > REGISTER

Wednesday Evening / 4:15pm – 5:15pm
Dates: May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
60min Class @ $23/per class = $115  > REGISTER

At this level students have the ability to independently recognize the five elements of shape in the world around them. Students will step beyond simple 2-dimensional drawing and be introduced to 3-dimensional drawing concepts such as perspective and foreshortening. While this class is structured to ensure progress in drawing skill, it also allows for artistic freedom and individual creativity.

FUNDAMENTALS
Ages 9-11


Thursday Evening / 4:15pm – 5:45pm
Dates: May 2, 9*, 16, 23, 30
* May 9th will be a special class themed after the upcoming film 'IF'.
    Students will receive exclusive movie premier passes & merch.
90min Class @ $27/per class = $135  > REGISTER

This class is an introduction to several fundamental art skills, such as shading, light-logic, texture, vanishing point, perspective, proportion & composition. Students will continue to build confidence and practice independent decision making and creative compositional choices. This class will help students work toward developing independent drawing skills and creating their own personal style.

INTERMEDIATE
Ages 12-15


Monday Evening / 4:30pm – 6:00pm
Dates: May 6, 13, 20, 27 *closed  memorial day

In this class students will have fun learning how to draw realistically in a relaxed and supportive environment. A variety of fundamental drawing and painting techniques will be introduced, and all skill levels are welcome! Each student will receive some one-on-one instruction in addition to group instruction, and the class will be self-paced. Everyone can learn how to draw and paint realistically using the classic skills and techniques that have been taught since the Renaissance.

ADULT
Ages 16+ (Beginner & Advanced)


Monday Evening / 6:15pm – 7:45pm

Our new instructor, Kremena Lefterova will be teaching students ages 16+ how to draw realistically in a relaxed and supportive environment. All skill levels are welcome, and a variety of fundamental drawing techniques will be introduced, including Still Life Drawing, Portrait Drawing, Landscape Drawing, Perspective Drawing, Gesture Drawing, Ink and Pen Techniques, Color Theory, Texture Studies, Abstract and Expressive Drawing, Collaborative Drawing, Art History and Drawing Styles, Critique Sessions and Portfolio Development.

60 MINUTE CLASSES
CLASS DROP-IN RATE = $27
MONTH TUITION RATE = $23/per class – (paid by the month times the number of classes in the month)

90 MINUTE CLASSES
CLASS DROP-IN RATE = $32
MONTH TUITION RATE = $27/per class – (paid by the month times the number of classes in the month)

ADULT CLASSES
CLASS DROP-IN RATE = $35
MONTH TUITION RATE = $30/per class – (paid by the month times the number of classes in the month)

*If not paying for the entire month, tuition will be pro-rated at the drop-in rate.
