Interest Groups

The MOMS Club® of Marion offers a variety of interest groups for moms and children.

We also believe in participating with and giving back to our community.

We participate in an annual service project through an organization selected by club members. We have also begun working closely with a local senior living facility to organize a monthly inter-generational activity between the residents and our children.

Please take a moment to review the list of current activities we have on our calendar each month to keep your mind, your body and your hands busy! In addition to these regularly scheduled groups, we also have holiday or themed get togethers, speakers from our community on a wide variety of topics, and field trips to various kid centered places.

We always welcome ideas for new hobby and interest groups!

Playgroups

Get to know others in a smaller setting! Bring your babies and young children to play at the home of one of our moms or at a local play area. Chat and snack while the kids have fun together!

Book Club

Adult reading is the primary focus of the group. Participants in the group read a book every month and then get together for a discussion. The reading selections run the literary gamut. Members can submit potential titles, and books are generally provided through the library so members don't have to purchase books each month.

Coffee Chat

Whether you are a coffee lover or not, but just need a reason to get out of the house, meet up with us once a month at various coffee shops around town. Bring your kids along and stay as long or as short as you want.

Fitness Club

Pack up the stroller, throw in kids bikes, and meet us to enjoy a walk through the shaded trail. Through the winter months we may go to the malls for indoor walking. Want to get together for some group fitness? Help us get a group together and let's plan it!

JUMP (Just Us Moms Play)

This group is geared towards moms of school age and older children. While all the kids are busy studying in school Just Us Moms meet up for a monthly activity, such as a lunch out, a movie, coffee and dessert, etc. You help us select activities to do!

Music Club

This club is focused on the kids’ fun with music and interactive playing. There will be props and homemade musical instruments that will be used throughout the casual musical activity. It will be approximately 45 minutes, and requests for music are always welcome.

Lunch Date

If you are hesitant to take you kids out in public at a restaurant, then this is the group to hang with! No judgement, let's all just enjoy a meal together that we don't have to clean up. It's a great opportunity to try new restaurants around town and return to the old favorites.

MOMS Night Out

Once a month we get together for a little kid-free fun and relaxation. Some of our past fun include: dinners at local restaurants, attending live music at local area establishments, game nights, movies, museum tours, and free craft classes.

Sewing Club

From the novice to the more experienced, this club is open to all moms who have a desire to learn to sew and quilt, or who just want some much needed time they can commit to starting or finishing their ongoing projects. This group meets once a month at a member's home. A project will be introduced that moms can choose to do, or they can work on their own project, or just enjoy the company of other moms.

Sunshine Club

This parent support group is here to brighten your day! Sunshine Club coordinates the help of members by bringing a gift or preparing a meal when a family has a new baby, or providing other types of support when the family experiences a loss, illness, or move. We're available if you need help of any kind.
