I though that as the Momentum Researcher in this project, it was important for me to share my thoughts.   It is evident that human activities and the World´s energy requirements have a great impact in the environment and is something that needs urgent attention. Therefore, considering the volume of carbon dioxide emissions generated from the aviation sector, I consider that there is great potential of impact from doing research into developing sustainable aviation fuels efficiently. The great challenge is that this research is complex in nature and has many specific areas to develop, it is very costly and time consuming. Also, the amount of information generated is vast and very difficult to analyse.  In this cases technological tools, namely digitalization strategies like machine learning, shows as a key tool in order to tackle these challenges as it will facilitate the optimization of processes and the prediction of how the process or even the fuels will result from basic data known from the feedstock. In my opinion, this process will contribute to take scientific research into sustainable aviation fuels to high technology readiness levels fueled by the great capacities that digitalization strategies provide researchers.
