Privacy Policy for Momentime

1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy describes how Momentime ("we," "our," or "the App") handles information in connection with your use of our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in our data practices.
2. INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE
Momentime does not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal information, usage data, or analytics from users. The App operates entirely on-device with no external data transmission.
3. DATA STORAGE
All user-generated content, including tasks, projects, timer configurations, and preferences, is stored exclusively on your local device using iOS-native storage mechanisms. We do not maintain servers, cloud infrastructure, or databases that store user information. Your data never leaves your device during normal operation of the App.
4. DATA PROCESSING
We do not process, analyze, aggregate, or utilize user data in any manner. The App functions as a self-contained productivity tool with no backend services or data processing operations.
5. DATA EXPORT AND BACKUP
The App provides optional functionality to export your data as a backup file in JSON format. This feature:
- Generates files locally on your device
- Requires explicit user initiation
- Stores exported files only in locations you designate
- Does not transmit data to our servers or third parties
- Gives you complete control over exported data
IMPORTANT SECURITY NOTICE: Exported backup files are unencrypted and stored in plain-text JSON format. If you share, upload, or store these files in insecure locations, your task data may be accessible to others. We recommend:
- Storing backup files in secure locations only
- Not uploading backups to public or unsecured cloud services
- Deleting backup files after successful import
- Using password-protected or encrypted storage when available
- Not sharing backup files via email or messaging apps unless necessary
We are not responsible for unauthorized access to backup files stored outside the App.
6. PERMISSIONS
The App may request the following iOS permissions:
6.1 Notifications
Purpose: To deliver alerts when task timers complete
Scope: System notifications only; does not enable data collection
Optional: The App remains fully functional if this permission is denied
6.2 File System Access
Purpose: To import previously exported backup files or save new exports
Scope: Limited to files explicitly selected by the user
Optional: Only requested when you initiate import/export operations
These permissions are used solely for their stated purposes and do not grant us access to your personal information.
7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Momentime does not integrate with, utilize, or transmit data to any third-party services, including but not limited to:
- Analytics platforms
- Advertising networks
- Crash reporting services
- Social media integrations
- Cloud storage providers
- Data brokers or aggregators
- Marketing platforms
- Remote configuration services
8. APPLE'S DATA COLLECTION
While Momentime collects no data, Apple Inc. may collect certain information through iOS and the App Store, including but not limited to:
- App download and usage statistics
- Crash reports (if you have opted in to share diagnostics with Apple)
- Device information and performance metrics
- App Store interaction data
- Search queries and browsing behavior in the App Store

We do not have access to, control over, or receive any data that Apple collects about your use of Momentime.
9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Momentime does not knowingly collect information from individuals under the age of 13. As we collect no personal information from any users, the App may be used by individuals of all ages in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Parents and guardians should be aware that while we collect no data, Apple may collect certain usage information as described in Section 8 above.
10. DATA SECURITY AND BACKUPS
Your data security is ensured through on-device storage and iOS system-level protections. We recommend:
- Enabling device passcode or biometric authentication
- Keeping iOS updated to the latest version
- Protecting your device from unauthorized physical access
- Using Find My iPhone to enable remote wipe capabilities
10.1 ICLOUD BACKUPS
IMPORTANT: If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your Momentime data may be included in your encrypted iCloud backups. This is controlled by your iOS device settings, not by the App. iCloud backups are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Your Momentime data in iCloud backups:
- Is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Is stored on Apple's servers
- May be accessible by Apple under certain circumstances
- Persists until you delete the backup or disable iCloud Backup
To exclude Momentime from iCloud backups:
iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups → [This Device] → Momentime → Toggle Off
10.2 LOCAL DEVICE BACKUPS
If you back up your device to a computer using iTunes or Finder, your Momentime data will be included in that backup. These backups:
- Are stored on your computer
- Are not
