Underdog

Underdog is my #1 top favorite superhero comedy film. The film features a beagle dog who has earned a spot on the police bomb squad. During a mission, he sets off a false alarm and is then made fun of by the squad. He leaves on his own because he feels ashamed of how he let that happen and that he let his squad down. He is then picked up off the side of the street and is taken to this lab for experimentation. The evil man in the labs tests a serum on the beagle, giving the dog powers. The beagle escapes the lab and runs into a nice family, and they end up keeping him and giving him the name "Shoeshine". Shoeshine helps people in the neighborhood and also the city. He then develops the nickname "Underdog".  

The man at the lab was very angry at how he could not recreate this serum, so his takes his revenge on the mayor by holding him hostage and planting a bomb. Being the good police dog that Shoeshine was, he sniffs out the bomb and stops the man from doing harm. At the end of the movie, Shoeshine is offered to return to the city capitol to help protect and serve the people of the city as Underdog.
