Currently:
I advise an undergraduate student in a mathematical machine learning project through the Directed Reading Program (DRP) at the University of Virginia.
In the past, I've participated in some other things:
Before my current DRP, I advised a student in an enumerative combinatorics DRP. I was also a member of the program's organizing committee.
I was honored to be selected as a Bridge Mentor by my department. As stated on the program's website, The Bridge to the Doctorate supports anyone "underrepresented in their disciplines and who have not had sufficient training and research experiences to prepare them for admission to doctoral programs."
I was nominated by my department for an official membership in the Association for Women in Mathematics.
I attended the AMS's Advocating for Students of Color in Mathematics workshop. This program spanned September-December 2020 and empowered mathematicians to design inclusive classrooms. The workshop offered many suggestions to promote racial equity within our home departments.
I attended the University of Virginia's "Writing to Expand Your Audience" workshop in 2020. This six week course teaches academics how to effectively communicate their research to more general (non-mathematician) audiences.
I was a TA in the local math circle. This program offers Charlottesville's public school students the opportunity to practice recreational mathematics.
I am a former counselor of the Ross Mathematics Program at the Ohio State University. The program's goal is to teach advanced high school students college-level number theory (and other special topics).
I co-organized the Graduate Students Seminar and teatime.
I was the lead organizer for a teaching-focused panel for incoming math grad students at UVA.
