I am working as an Associate Professor and Head (Section Incharge), Computer Engineering Section, Department of University Polytechnic (formerly Department of Technology), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia, A Central University, NAAC Accredited A++, New Delhi, India. My research interest lies at the intersection of Software Engineering and Soft Computing/Machine Learning.
In my Department, I lead the Software Engineering Laboratory, where the research aim is to develop methods to strengthen the various Software Requirements Engineering processes using specialized Soft Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Algorithms. Currently, three Ph.D. scholars are working in Software Engineering Laboratory under my co-supervision and four students have completed their Ph.D. degree in different areas of Computer Engineering. Several M. Tech students have also completed their M. Tech dissertation under my supervision.
I worked for two years as a Post-Doctoral Fellow (July 2019-June 2021) in the Department of Computer Science and Automation, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, India, where I was advised by Prof. V. Susheela Devi in the area of Fuzzy & Rough-Set Theory and Its Applications to Software Engineering. I have taught Soft Computing and Intelligent Agents jointly with my supervisor at IISc Bangalore, India. I am associated with my postdoc supervisor for collaborative research work in the area of Artificial Intelligence. Prior to joining IISc Bangalore, I have worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow (May-July, 2016, hosted by Prof. S. K. Pal, Distinguished Scientist and Former Director) at the Center for Soft Computing Research, Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata, India; and visited Indian Statistical Institute Bangalore, India as a Visiting Scientist. I have also worked as a Summer Faculty Research Fellow (2015) under the guidance of Prof. S. P. Singh at the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India.
I received a Ph. D. degree in Computer Engineering in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. S. K. Jain from National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, India. I finished Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering in 2005 from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India. I completed M. Tech. dissertation in the area of Image Processing under the supervision of Prof. M. Sarosh Umar, Chairman, Department of Computer Engineering, AMU, Aligarh, India. I received a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2001 from Al-Falah School of Engineering and Technology, Faridabad, affiliated with Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak, India. I was intern during graduation (June-July, 1999 and 2000) at CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute- Delhi Extension Centre, New Delhi, India.
