AI may not be as big of a bubble as some people claim, but it’s also not something everyone needs to master or abandon their own field for. I think of major tech breakthroughs as objects supported by multiple pillars—each one has to advance at roughly the same pace for the whole thing to stay balanced. For AI, those pillars are the science itself, the energy it demands, and a stable, well-distributed geopolitical landscape. The question is: can we maintain all three at the level needed to push AI forward in the way so many people expect?
