I am dedicated to building a career in applied research. During my graduate studies and postdoctoral tenure, I have developed a research agenda centered on agriculture, trade, health, and policy. This work has resulted in a robust research pipeline, including published and under-review manuscripts, working papers, and ongoing projects. Research agenda:
To produce actionable policy recommendations to alleviate the impacts of diseases and other external shocks using causal inference based empirical evidence in the fields of agricultural production and trade.
Research insights:
Animal diseases are costly, through productivity impacts, control and mitigation costs, and market impacts such as price and trade flow impacts.
Public spending on disease control is effective. However, we don't know whether they are optimal.
Decisions about intrahousehold allocation in human and animal health are complex and interconnected, especially in poor households.
