Welcome to my page!
My name is Mohamad. I am an Assistant Professor of Strategy at Beedie School of Business and a Senior Honorary Research Fellow at UCL School of Management. I received my Ph.D. in Strategy from IE Business School in June 2021 and was a postdoctoral researcher at UCL for a year. Before joining Beedie, I was an Assistant Professor of Management at ESSEC Business School for two years. My research lies at the intersection of strategy and organization theory. I focus on the interactions among firms and stakeholders to understand how 1) the characteristics of firms and their CEOs influence the intensity and types of stakeholders' pressures in societal issues 2) firms and their CEOs respond to such pressures, and 3) these pressures impact firms’ strategic outcomes such as financial performance.
I see myself generally drawn to conceptual work and quantitative research as the former is a great thought exercise that can strengthen my reasoning and results in a deep grasp of literature, while the latter helps me understand the organizations’ behavior in a more macro level and empirically test important and novel questions.
In my research projects, I have been collaborating with scholars residing in Europe and North America and affiliated with Top Business schools such as Kellogg, INSEAD, Rice, University College London (UCL), York U, CBS, ESSEC, SFU, Brock, IE Business School, TUM and LSU.
