Team Systems focuses on building and understanding how an ecological momentary assessment (EMA) tool can capture implementation and adaptation in real time from those delivering the substance prevention curriculum. We are currently updating the Ho‘ouna Pono website and tracking google analytics to understand triggers for an EMA.
Ho‘ouna Pono Program Breakdown: We have reviewed the Ho‘ouna Pono lessons and activities and rearranged the materials onto one accessible page. This allows us to understand what materials are accessed.
Ho‘ouna Pono Site: We have connected Google Analytics to the Ho‘ouna Pono site to understand site retention and click-through rates.
EMA Buildout on Google Forms: Our EMA tool will be use Google Forms to send out real-time surveys to Ho‘ouna Pono deliverers. Teachers will receive a text message alert with the link to the form after they deliver a lesson to their students.
Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) is a research method that involves collecting data from individuals in their natural environment using mobile devices or other technology. It focuses on capturing individuals' experiences, behaviors, and physiological responses in real-time as they occur in their daily lives. EMA helps researchers understand how these factors relate to each other and how they influence behavior.
EMA Tool Pilot Testing: We will pilot the tool with a teacher from Kailua Intermediate School. Was it easy to navigate? Was it too long? These are insights we hope to uncover after our pilot test.
