Moez and Marissa understand that few things can improve a community faster than improved access to quality healthcare. They believe that a good society must be a healthy society, which is why their foundation gave one of its largest donations to help fund a new food court for Michael Garron Hospital.
The Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research aims to end the HIV epidemic in Canada, making it a vital organization for the foundation’s mission of helping vulnerable communities. It accomplishes this through increased prevention, increased testing, improving health outcomes, and eliminating the stigma associated with HIV.
In 2017, SickKids launched the SickKids VS Limits Campaign, which represents three key focus areas of the SickKids Foundation. They include: a new patient care center on University Avenue, groundbreaking pediatric research, and establishing partnerships for better and more coordinated patient care.
Through its support of Sick Kids, the Moez & Marissa Kassam Foundation has become a SickKids Groundbreaker — one of the organizations that contributes to this campaign.
