Our DIY Casket Range- “Build all our waka moe - (coffins & caskets) from our whenua here in Aotearoa — offering significant savings. 

Our point of difference is that we hand build all our waka moe - coffin and casket ourselves — and are not your typical standard funeral coffins.

We offer two affordable options to support whānau who wish to take part in creating a unique farewell:

Option 1 – $400
A standard size waka moe in its plain shell — no handles, no lining.
✔ Take home to decorate yourself
✔ Or leave as is for direct cremation or burial

Option 2 – $500
A standard size waka moe, fully lined and fitted with 6 wooden handles.
✔ Natural state finish, ready as is
✔ Or personalise and redecorate to honour your loved one

Both options are handmade with aroha and designed to give you flexibility, affordability, and the freedom to create your own beautiful final waka moe.

Our DIY - Cremation or Burial Range - $500 assembled & lined. 

Perfect for cremation services and DIY funerals, our DIY waka tupapaku are designed to remain in their natural state. You can leave them as they are or take them home for customisation—just like the Coffin Clubs.

As mentioned before, my father’s waka tupapaku started as a simple coffin design. Over time, with the luxury of being its designer, he transformed it into his beautiful & magnificent final waka, made just for him!

Each casket features:

✔ Countersunk lid (no plastic handles or metal coffin screws)
✔ Six sturdy wooden handles with soft rope for carrying
✔ A simple yet functional design, preserving the natural beauty of the wood

📍 Pick-up or delivery available (additional fee applies)
🛠 Storage option: We can hold a casket for up to 1 month for an additional $50 holding fee. For longer storage, please contact us for pricing.

✔ 24-hour cancellation policy – If you change your mind within 24 hours, you’ll receive a refund minus a $25 admin fee
