Module 3: Speaking and Listening More Deeply in the Empathy Circle — 10 hours across four 2.5-hour sessions:
Session 1 — The Art of Speaking Authentically Moves participants from surface reporting to inside-out sharing: feelings, body sensations, and needs as the starting point.
Session 2 — The Art of Deep Listening Explores three levels of listening, names the six common "listening blocks," and builds the skill of full empathic presence.
Session 3 — The Empathic Reflection: Going to the Core Teaches the full spectrum from paraphrase to deep core reflection, including tentative language, when a reflection "lands," and how to recover from a miss.
Session 4 — Integration: The Circle as Transformative Practice Weaves all three skills together, situates the practice within the broader Empathy Movement, and closes with personal practice commitments and a graduation circle.
Each session includes a timed schedule, opening Empathy Circle with prompt, teaching content, practice circles with specific learning intentions, reflection questions, and between-session assignments. Five appendices are included: Speaker's Guide, Listener's Guide, Roles Summary, Feeling Words Reference, and Resources.
