My Process

I begin by consulting with the person the amulet is inteneded for, about their prayers and hopes and if there are any verses that are particularly meaningful to them.

  • I select the verse(s) and decide on a shape for the kamea. Here I selected a key shape and Exodus 15:2 and Deuteronomy 33:4 for my peers in my Talmud concentration.

I draft a template on the computer and print it out.

I trace the shape and use the template as a guide for writing out the verse(s).

I add color and decoration and cut out the shape from the shrink plastic.

I punch a hole in the kamea for hanging.

I bake the shrink plastic for a few minutes and then let them cool

  1. I apply liquid resin and let it cure at least overnight.

I drill through the resin, through the hole that I already punched.

I attach the kamea to jewelry findings.
