BREED ASSIGNMENT LIST

This is the official Breed Assignment List (aka BAL) to be used by entrants & judges to determine which breed belongs in which class or division. MHI breed assignment is loosely structured according to geographical origin, breed type, & use.

This list is by no means is complete, and always a work in progress. If you are showing a breed not listed here; or would like to have a breed added to the Breed Assignment List, please contact us and provide:

⦁  link to an official breed registry, association, or State Stud, that has a defined breed standard and/or rulebook

⦁  name of breed to be added 

⦁  under what class or division 

⦁  If your entry is a historical (or extinct) breed, please provide a link to source info.
