Introduction to Mobile Collaboration
Student engagement both inside and outside the classroom is essential for students to establish relationships and network with their peers and teachers (Osman, 2022, p.149). Collaboration is very important in mobile learning as it can feel isolating without it. It brings a sense of togetherness amongst peers and student groups even though everyone's in their own space.

Mobile collaboration plays an important role in developing student engagement in our current fast-paced, technology driven, mobile society, where mobile applications are the handheld center for learning, encouraging collaboration in our natural environment (Rowan, 2021).
We will be looking at the various synchronous, asynchronous and semi-synchronous mobile collaboration tools to analyze their effectiveness.
Our Scope
Studies have shown that collaborative learning facilitated by e-learning technologies have resulted in greater learner satisfaction, knowledge improvement, and understanding of concepts among other positive outcomes (Dash, 2019). “A compatible collaborative tool must have a user-friendly graphical environment that allows asking questions, changing an existing code, trying a new code, viewing it and analyzing the results” (Cavus et al., 2007, p.303), both teacher and students should be able to simultaneously interact with the collaborative learning tool.
Mobile collaboration can be distinguished into three categories: asynchronous, synchronous and semi-synchronous (a combination of both synchronous and asynchronous). We have discovered and listed existing mobile collaboration tools, then organized them into one of the two categories (synchronous or asynchronous).
We hope this compilation of mobile collaboration tools in addition to the ratings that we as a group provide will assist in your professional work.
