Tevyan Sorensen of the Burnsville Women of Today is pleased to announce her candidacy for the office of State President of the Minnesota Women of Today.

Tevyan’s  background  in membership, leadership and committee chair work has given her the experience needed to lead this organization forward to a positive and promising future.   Joining Minnesota Women of Today in 2010, Tevyan has been an active member ever since.  She has held programming, membership, administrative, and supervisory positions at the local, district and state levels.  On a local level, she has held positions including chapter President, Parliamentarian, Membership VP, Programming VP, Treasurer, Local Program Manager, Public Relations, and Social Media.  On the district level, Tevyan was District Director, Parliamentarian, Treasurer X3 years, and District Program Manager.   On the state level, she served as the Living & Learning State Program Manager 2013-2014 and most recently, Future Directions Committee Chairperson 2016-2018, Membership Management Committee Chairperson 2018-2019, Membership VP 2020-2021, Administrative VP 2021-2022, and Chapter Management VP 2023-2024. Tevyan has the knowledge, with her diverse experience to support Minnesota Women of Today in all areas.

In her career as an IT consultant and then as a Life Coach, Tevyan has learned to focus on intentionality and putting effort into alignment with purposes and goals. She also learned the importance of communication when working with others as well as looking at things from various perspectives to ensure the needs of the group are being met.  Her involvement with Peacemaker Minnesota—working with schools to create safer places that are bullying and harassment free, and serving on the Lakeville School ECFE Advisory Council and Community Education Advisory Council will serve her well as she leads the Minnesota Women of Today as State President. Her love and dedication to Women of Today for what it does for members, the friendships, and opportunities available shines through in all she does.

Tevyan’s belief statement about why she wishes to serve and what she will bring to the organization states, “I believe in the mission of Women of Today because I have experienced it all for myself through being an active and engaged member.  If elected, I will bring a positive and encouraging vision for our members to make the most of their membership.  I will share my experience, my knowledge, and my passion to support the engagement and growth of our chapters and individual members.  And I will approach the year and all we do by leading with intention and a lens of simplicity and collaboration.”
