The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) 2026 Application is now open!

If you are interested in working this summer and earning money, you can apply online at https://application.nycsyep.com/

The application deadline is February 27, 2026.

Through a partnership with the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), the Transition and College Access Centers (TCACs) offer students with IEPs or 504 plans the opportunity to work during a six-week period from July 6 to August 15.

Students placed through TCAC receive additional support at their worksites from specialized staff. To be connected with TCAC, you must:

1. Answer “Yes” to the question “Do You Have a Disability” and

2. Enter your school’s DBN

Each school has a unique DBN (District, Borough, and School Number). For example, 01M123.

To find a school's DBN, follow these steps:

Type the school's name into the search box. https://schoolsearch.schools.nyc/.

After completing the sections on Career Goal Information, Medical Coverage, and Getting Paid, click “Next” to review the Summary Page. Select “Continue” and you will arrive at the SYEP Provider Selection page below. Do not enter any information in the spaces provided at the top of the page. Scroll down below the map and click on “New York City Department of Education - TCAC.” Note: If you do not see the "New York City Department of Education - TCAC" as a Provider, please review the previous steps.

You do not need to answer the referring agency question or enter a PIN. Students who do not follow this process may be routed to other organizations.

After applying, be sure to check your email regularly and respond promptly to messages from MNTCAC@schools.nyc.gov.

In early March, you will be asked to upload required documents through the Participant Portal. You will only have a few days to complete this step. A list of required documents by age group can be found here: https://application.nycsyep.com/DocumentLibrary.  We strongly encourage you to begin gathering your documents now.

Enrollment is first come, first served, and your application is only complete once all required documents are submitted. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask for help.

Good luck - we encourage you to apply!
