A history of reaching out to youth!
Minnesota Statewide Testing Week started with community youth! The Community Restoring Urban Youth Sexual Health (CRUSH) initiative saw "youth as valuable assets in community," encouraged clinics across the state to create youth-friendly avenues for young people to get access to free or low-cost STI and family planning services.
May 5 through 9, 2025 was Minnesota Statewide Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing Week. Below are some relevant statistics and data collected from our clinic sites during STI testing week:
41 clinic sites, with 41% of sites in Greater Minnesota
Over 500 teens and young adults were tested for chlamydia and other STIs.
Over 300 patients were new to the clinic where they were tested.
The following positive cases were found:
63 cases of chlamydia
13 cases of gonorrhea
4 cases of syphilis
All patients who received a positive test result were provided with recommendations for treatment and support accessing other services as needed.
