Below are the Open Access online resources that are freely available in the internet, to provide additional sources of information for researchers. These are evaluated by the librarian to make sure reliable databases are being added to these lists.



BASE Bielefeld Academic Search Engine   BASE is one of the world’s most voluminous search engines especially for academic web resources. BASE provides more than 100 million documents from more than 4,000 sources. You can access the full texts of about 60% of the indexed documents for free (Open Access). BASE is operated by Bielefeld University Library.

BCcampus   they are innovators and implementers, leaders and learners. Their primary focus is to support the post-secondary institutions of British Columbia as they adopt, adapt, and evolve their teaching and learning practices to create a better experience for students. 

Bookboon – Publishes free and openly available textbooks and eBooks which can be downloaded in PDF without registration. 

Cogprints –  An electronic archive for self-archive papers in any area of Psychology, Neuroscience, and Linguistics, and many areas of Computer Science (e.g., artificial intelligence, robotics, vison, learning, speech, neural networks), Philosophy (e.g., mind, language, knowledge, science, logic), Biology (e.g., ethology, behavioral ecology, sociobiology, behaviour genetics, evolutionary theory), Medicine (e.g., Psychiatry, Neurology, human genetics, Imaging), Anthropology (e.g., primatology, cognitive ethnology, archeology, paleontology), as well as any other portions of the physical, social and mathematical sciences that are pertinent to the study of cognition. 

Core – CORE’s mission is to aggregate all open access research outputs from repositories and journals worldwide and make them available to the public. In this way CORE facilitates free unrestricted access to research for all. 

dblp Computer Science Bibliography – is an online index of major computer science publications. Although it provides access to both free access articles and those behind a paywall, you can limit your search to only full-text articles. The site indexes more than three million publications, making it an invaluable resource in the world of computer science.

Directory of Open Access Journals (DOJ) – publishes free and openly available textbooks and eBooks which can be downloaded in PDF without registration. 

EconBiz – For students, researchers and teachers EconBiz offers orientation and help in the search for articles, working papers, e-books and more.  A service made by Leibniz Information Centre for Economics, it offers access to full texts online, with the option of searching for open access material only. 

E-Book Friendly Site that list down 25 public domain books. Every year, new publications enter public domain. It means their intellectual property rights have expired or are not applicable any longer.The content of these works becomes available for public use. Anyone is free to use or reuse it. 

Free-Ebooks.net– is a great collection of fun, entertaining selections. Categories include a few non-fiction topics such as career and business, but the selection of fiction and easy reading is what is most impressive about this website. Formats include HTML, PDF, ePub and Mobipocket, offering a range of variability for most digital reading devices. 

Freelipiniana– Curates published literary works volunteered by Filipino writers and publishers. With their help, this digital archive gives Filipinos free access to reading materials made by Filipinos for Filipinos. These include full-length books, like novels, poetry collections, and anthologies, and zines. 

Internet Archive The Internet Archive is a 501(c)(3) non-profit library. Founded in 1996, our mission is to provide Universal Access to All Knowledge. We collect published works and make them available in digital formats. We are building a public library that can serve anyone in the world with access to the Internet. As our web archive grew, so did our commitment to providing digital versions of other published works. Today our archive contains: 279 billion web pages , 11 million books and texts, 4 million audio recordings (including 160,000 live concerts), 3 million videos (including 1 million Television News programs)1 million images 100,000 software programs
