Zhang (2021) defines ICT is a broad term encompassing various technologies used for communication, information management, and creation. This includes familiar tools like computers and the internet, as well as radio, telephones, and television. 

It emphasizes that ICT is more than just a delivery system for information. Modern teaching involves combining different ICT tools to create a more engaging and interactive learning environment for students.

There are three main types of ICT used in education: (1) e-learning, (2) blended learning, and (3) distance learning. 

E-learning, also known as online learning, utilizes computer-assisted learning at all levels, often incorporating multimedia and networked technologies. Blended learning combines traditional classroom teaching with online learning solutions, allowing teachers to use a variety of methods like face-to-face instruction, self-paced learning activities, and online classrooms. Lastly, distance learning, also called open learning, separates teachers and learners in terms of time and place. 

Students studying through distance learning typically work independently but can communicate with teachers and classmates through email, online forums, video conferencing, and other methods.
