Minnesota DNR Forestry Employees Association

Constitution

Article I

Name

This organization shall be known as the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Forestry Employees Association. A Unit shall consist of all members within an Administrative Unit, or a designated combination thereof.

Article II

Objectives

The objectives of this Association shall be to unite all members of the Minnesota DNR Division of Forestry for the improvement of social and intellectual conditions of its members, for the creation and cultivation of friendships among its members, for the promotion and encouragement of a greater degree of efficiency in the protection and use of the natural resources of the State, and to promote and maintain the good name and dignity of the Minnesota DNR Division of Forestry.

Article III

Qualifications of Members

All present and former employees of the Minnesota DNR Division of Forestry are qualified to be members of the Association.

Article IV

Officers

The elective officers of the Association shall consist of President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Article V

Steering and Budget Committee

The Steering and Budget Committee shall be composed of one member from each designated unit in the Association.

Article VI

Meetings

The annual meeting of the Association shall normally be held on the first Friday following the first Thursday of December of each year, at a location selected by the Steering and Budget Committee. The Steering and Budget Committee has the right to determine an alternate date for the annual meeting.

Article VII

Amendments

The Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the members at any meeting of the full membership, provided there is a quorum present, and provided the original amendment to be voted upon has been presented in writing and duly considered by the members of all units. Amendments to the original written amendment may be discussed and voted upon once the original written amendment is on the floor, and will not have to be presented in writing. All amendments to the original written amendment shall also require the approval of two thirds of Association members present. Any new constitutional amendments approved by the membership will not be in effect until the next business day.
