How to Screenshot

When working with any technology, sometimes things go wrong and you have to troubleshoot with an expert!.

Using screenshots are a very useful tool when you're trying to show someone what's going wrong.

Here are some useful keyboard shortcuts that will let you click and drag to screenshot the part of your screen where the error message, bug, or other problem is happening. Depending on the type of computer you're using, these screenshots can then be uploaded or pasted into a chat or e-mail with your expert.

Windows

WINDOWS + SHIFT + S

Click and drag after pressing Windows + Shift + S at the same time to select the part of the screen you want to copy.
Saves to your CLIPBOARD
Paste the screenshot into an e-mail or chat, or into a program like MS Paint if you want to save it for later.

Mac

CMD + SHIFT + 4

Click and drag after pressing Command + Shift + 4 at the same time to select the part of the screen you want to copy.
Saves to your DESKTOP
Upload the image into an e-mail or chat.

Chromebook

CTRL + SHIFT + SHOW WINDOWS

Click and drag after pressing Control + Shift + Show all Windows the same time to select the part of the screen you want to copy.
Saves to your DOWNLOADS or IMAGES
Upload the image into an e-mail or chat.

iPad

POWER + HOME

Captures a shot of your entire screen.
Saves to your CAMERA ROLL
Upload the image into an e-mail or chat.
