Everyone has a different level of experience with Minecraft.
If you have never used Minecraft before, ask your teacher for some time to explore the first four How to Play worlds.

You can get to the Student Site any time using the S
Click on the "book and speaker" icon (or push "i" when you're close to a sign or board) to open Immersive Reader.
Use Immersive Reader to read all the text, or just one challenging word.
You must be on the main play screen to adjust the Game Language.

Right click to talk to an NPC
Use the Immersive Reader button to hear them talk to you
Click grey buttons to travel or get items
Click blue buttons to get more information
Press C to open Code Builder on a keyboard
Press the agent icon to open Code Builder on a touch screen
Choose the Make Code editor
If you choose the wrong editor, use the more menu to change editors
You can also use the more menu to flip the Code Builder to the side of the screen where it's more useful.
Always check for a sign before you collect a sample.
If there's no sign, it's safe to use any tool.
If there is a sign, you MUST use that tool or you could destroy your sample.
Use clues in dialogue and in the pictures of the real rocks and minerals to sort it into the correct box (rocks or minerals)
To put your samples in the box, place it where the rocks used to be.
Right click with the camera in your hand to take a picture
To stop interacting with something instead of taking a picture, hold down shift.
Right click to use the book & quill
Click on the pencil icon at the bottom of a page to choose a photo.
Sign the book when you are done to be able to download it as a pdf.
It is VERY important to get in the habit of backing up your work often. Even though Minecraft now backs up your world for you, there is no undo button in Minecraft, and having backups of your world can save you from big mistakes.
