The political conflict—already fuming, ignited the disaster.
In the heart of Myanmar, there is a historical town called Mandalay. Life in Mandalay was normal, and everyone ran their lives as usual. There are sellers and buyers on the streets and in the market, people at the office, children and the elderly taking a nap, monks drifting between monasteries and reciting prayers, and the sun shining on the buildings. Yet, beneath them, something ancient and big thing stirred. A big earthquake, lasting nearly 10 minutes, dramatically awoke them. The Sagaing Earthquake with 7.7 magnitude. A deep guttural roar shocks everyone. At 12:50 p.m, the earth broke into silence. Buildings collapsed like toy houses. The ground we were standing on was rippled. Panic ran through the city: dust clouded the skyline, religious buildings cracked, roads split, the Irrawaddy changed its way, and the sad number of people lying under the falling down buildings. The big fires nearby worsen the situation. Within a blink, almost everything in Mandalay was
ruined. But it wasn't just nature's havoc. Rebel forces and military are trying to scramble for control. The public was caught between crashing walls and rising political tension. After the day, the Meta glowed with emergency flames. Communities from other towns gathered and planned to share water, foods, and stories with people in affected areas. The citizens encourage
one another to build resilience in the face of fear. Under the same stars, they had once watched as the ancient kingdom fell, and strangers began to help each other again. The people are calling 'HELP" But, where is their trusted or untrustworthy authorities? In the wreckage, Mandalay, Sagaing, and the affected towns faced not only broken homes but also broken hearts and truths. Their tears are empty. But for now, they are trying to survive by holding each others' hands with the hope 'There is sunshine beyond a storm.' What shall you do living in a country guessing and controlling the natural disaster with astrology?
