I've developed a huge passion in learning the ins-and-outs of 2D and 3D CAD! I've done drafting and modeling in Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 8, SketchUp, and 3ds Max!
I'm always looking for ways to improve my skills using these design programs. Each time I use one, I learn something new!
This first set of pictures are projects from my CAD for Entertainment class I took at Valencia College. I chose to draft using Vectorworks. We were tasked with showing a multi-view step unit, and labeling it properly so it can be used in plans.
The other two sheets are of a front elevation, each piece lettered, with labeling for the scenic carpenters! The last sheet is showing the lighting (in no particular order) on top of a ground plan.
This quick drafting project was made to design a set model for the play Jitney by August Wilson. The set model was the final project for our Creative Design for Theater class. The original draft was hand-drawn on vellum paper. I wanted to practice using AutoCAD and Revit for designing, so I drafted out the ground plan in both programs!
These 4 photos were done for a technical design project where we were tasked with drawing detailed framing pages for an already existing set.
The key point of this drawing package was to focus on the bracing of each element of the set, as you can see with the elevations of the ramps, platforms, and rear flats.
I wanted to draft a haunted house for a personal project!
I started out with a ground plan of the show building I wanted to use, and imported it to SketchUp. I drew the walls in, and pushed them up to the exact height of the building, leaving room for doorways.
I started with the main facade, a small cottage in what is supposed to be the middle of nowhere. The facade transitions into the next scene inside the dining room.
I'm still hard at work on this project, so I'll definitely be updating this page with more!
This is a 15' x 15' stage meant for a scare zone. I wanted it to look slightly modern, while saving enough space for bloody scenic and mannequin props.
