I wan't to set custom splash screen when users install my plugins. So far I only found a way by manually changing it in eclipse configurations. Is it possible to do this programatically from a plugin?

I managed to change the color of the status bar for my MainActivity and even to make it fullscreen using a theme. However none of the methods I've tried are working with the splash screen. Maybe it's because it doesn't use a layout but directly a drawable as background:

Now about that cache problem, it's not the first time I have it with that screen, it must be the particular condition of having no layout and a drawable as a background. I tried invalidating the cache in Android Studio, I cleaned and rebuilt the project, I uninstalled the app on the phone but nothing works. So if you are in this cofiguration, just try to run your app on another phone if you can, just to check that your solution isn't already working, just not updating on your device.

Is it possible? I searched some answer, suggesting to use another view controller to simulate as splash screen, but my splash screen itself will take some to to load my app, not by my pause. So should I display nothing in the real splash screen?

The splash screen will show only for as long as it takes for the appDidFinishLoading method to return YES. One possible solution is for you to have a really simple (not localizable) splash screen and to basically do nothing in this method and return YES straight away.

You can then use an actual view controller as your splash screen that is dynamically initialized and actually does any initialization your app may need in the viewDidAppear method. Once the initialization is done, you can then proceed and show what would normally be your root view controller.

Apple does not provide a way to do that, as that would involve either modifying the Info.plist or modifying the splash images, both of which would in turn spoil your code signature. It would also open a very ugly can of worms, so modifying Info.plist will probably never be allowed which in turn means you will not be able to change the splash screen dynamically unless Apple adds explicit support for that via some other means. But right now, you're out of luck, I'm afraid.

Sorry to keep bothering you on this, I am just tearing my hair out for hours now and I dont get it to work. There was no 'startup' folder in my Videos folder so I created it and placed the file called startup.mp4 in there. I have also placed it in the root of the Videos folder. This doesn't work. i keep getting the original BigBox start screen and sound. Now, in the Videos folder I can see other folders called Arcade, Nintendo 64 etc which contain some videos. However the root of my Launchbox/Videos folder is empty (apart from startup.mp4) isn't that a bit weird ? I think my solution lies in locating the original startup screen but I cannot find it anywhere.

The original startup splash screen CAN NOT be edited or removed, it is built into the program and is not accessible by the user, but as I said in my previous post you can disable it in the Bigbox options, and also disable the sounds. You do not need the startup.mp4 in your root videos folder, you can delete that. All you need is the startup folder and any video you place in that folder will randomly play at startup. Try changing the name of the video in the startup folder also as it may be conflicting as it has the same name. Also what version of Launchbox are you running?

First, thank you for your patience and quick replies. I am running Launchbox 7.3. I disabled sound on start and splashscreen in BigBox. BigBox now just starts without anything. I now only have a folder called startup in the root of Launchbox. In this folder I have now placed a couple of videos with different names but when I start BigBox (either direct or via launchbox) nothing happens. BigBox just starts without playing the videos.

The first splash screen is displayed by the launcher and it is stored in a separate file (Slicer-SplashScreen.png) that you can easily replace. However, the second splash screen is displayed by SlicerApp-real.exe and it is embedded as a binary resource in the application that you can only replace if you build a Slicer Custom Application.

Yes, it would be. Do you know of any mainstream NLEs or related pro or semi-pro programs in the audio/video field that allow users to change the Splash screen. TBH, I haven't seen one yet that has that option. BTW, I detest VP21's Splash screen and have turned it off.

I purchased my copy of Vegas Pro 21 and was able to disable the splash screen image by typing in "TRUE" on the internal menu. Of the billions of images that could have been used, I will never understand why they chose such a stupid photo to represent the application.

/src/gui/res/cc/png_serial_printing.c appears to be a C array that defines the screen, but all of the typical header info is missing (H,W, bit depth, etc). It has 22638 elements, which don't appear to conform to what I would have expected to be a 79 x 61 bit array.

I tried an online PNG to HEX converter (172 x 138, 8 Bit) and the resulting array came out to 9351 elements. On compilation (this was the only change made since last clean compile) the compiler crashed out. I've attached my resultant file.

I figured it out..... I accidentally removed the spaces in the header when I did a Find/Replace to reformat the CSV to a /n delimeter in the file. I added the spaces back into the const call and viola! It compiles cleanly, and the splash screen has been replaced with the logo. Apparently the sizing is robust enough in the code it will scale.

When creating logo, which doesn't fully cover available area, it's a good practice that transparency (alpha) is used for background. Because for whatever reason, it can happen that screen background color changes in future. In such case, it can happen that logo doesn't appear as it was planned and we need to make new logo with according background. If transparency is used, that's not a problem at all: logo will always appear as intended -regardless of background (see attached image).

Yes, chances are small that background color on printer display will change... but trust me, I've learned in past.

Having Problems Finding the Firmware folder. I am also trying to change the logo but I can't find the firmware folder. I only have an overlays folder and that's it. (Btw Im looking into the MicroSD card that I put in my raspberry pi so octoprint can do its work).

Hi, i want to change my ubuntu mate splash screen on start up but the file tells me to copy a folder to a location that is not their. the location is /lib/plymouth/themes but that location is not their. i have also tried doing the same thing as root but to no luck. Can i just make the folder and so the stuff and it work or do i need to put the folder in a different location?

ok great got the file put in place and install the splash screen as the website said but now it does not show them splash screen. What now? i reinstalled it many times but nothin. can someone please help me?

at this point i think you are right about it not being compatible. so i more then likely put it back to the stock boot splash screen and i will also have to find a way to get the original grub boot menu back to the way it was.

Question: On my desktop, I want to change the initial splash screen which is shown during boot time. How can I customize boot splash screen on [Ubuntu, Linux Mint]? When you power up your Ubuntu/Mint desktop and the boot procedure gets started in the...

I'm using the DLPDLCR2000evm with a beaglebone black and everything is working fine. I just have one problem, I would like to change the splash screen and if it would be possible to get a step by step instruction on how to make these changes (or to simply delete the splash screen).

yes exactly I would like to remove the current splash screens and add an image data type containing a logo as the new splash screen.

That would be great if it's doable and thank you so much in advance.

I see. I'm planning on using a couple of projecters (actually more than a couple), therefore i think it's best to buy the Cheetah SPI host adapter. But my question now would be, would I have to send you the images I would like to have as splash screens each time or can I generate or reprogram the new firmware containing the desired images myself (if so I would like to know how to accomplish that), surely hoping that it's not such a complicated task.

Thank you so much for your help.

Yes, the tool we use to generate the firmware is for internal use only, so if you wished to change the splash image you would need to send us the desired splash image and we would send you the firmware through a secure server for this purpose.

Thank you so much for your support.

I have one last question: can I order the new projectors straight from TI and send you the new splash images I would like to have for each projector and get them like that.

Thank you so much for your assistance.

Thank you so much for your support, you have been most helpful.

The customer already ordered the Cheetah SPI host adapter.

but now The customer would also like to know:

1. How does The customer proceed when The customer get the SPI host adapter, I mean do The customer send you the image file (for the new splash screen) here or through which chanel?

2. How can The customer reprogram the flash IC on the evm with the new firmware afterwards

3. Can The customer project a circular shap (like in the demo video), because the image file customer intend on using is of a rectangular shape and customer want it to be projected in a circular shape as a whole. 006ab0faaa
