Nuno Viduedo was born in 1998, in Lisbon, Portugal. He obtained his BSc in Applied Chemistry from FCT-NOVA, in 2019, and his MSc in Bioorganic Chemistry from the same institution, in 2021. In 2022, he received a research fellowship to work in the development of bimetallic catalytic synthesis of N-heterocycles, concerning the 1Pot2Cat project. Nuno is currently a PhD student, focused in the development of new strategies for the synthesis of medicinally relevant N-heterocycles, under the supervision of Prof. Maria Manuel Marques.
Ana Cláudia Negrão was born in 1997 in Lisbon, Portugal. She obtained her BSc in Applied Chemistry FCT-NOVA in 2019 and her MSc in Bioorganic Chemistry from the same institution in 2021. She is currently a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Maria Manuel Marques and Prof. Pedro Góis. Her research focuses on the synthesis and application of novel hypervalent iodine reagents in group transfer reactions.
José Carlos Ferreira da Cunha was born in 1996 on Cologne, Germany. He obtained his BSc in Applied Chemistry from FCT-NOVA in 2019 and his MSc in Bioorganic Chemistry drom the same institution in 2022. He is currently in a PhD student, under the supervision of Prof. Maria Manuel Marques from FCT-NOVA and Prof. Dr. Stefan Bräse from KIT (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie) in Germany. His research is focused on the synthesis of sulfonyl-containing BCP compounds using hypervalent iodine chemistry.
Catarina Isabel Baptista Cipriano was born in 1998 in Schaffausen, Switzerland. She obtained her BSc in Chemistry from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa in 2019 and her MSc in Bioorganic Chemistry from FCT-NOVA in 2021. She started her PhD in 2023, under the supervision of Prof. Maria Manuel Marques and Prof. Sérgio Filipe. Her research will focused on the synthesis of N-glycosylated azaindoles and the potential of these previously inaccessible molecules as antibacterial agents will be also evaluated.
Joana Ferreira is a PhD student of the doctoral program in Sustainable Chemistry at the University of Aveiro since 2021. In 2018, she finished her master’s degree in Biochemistry with a specialization in Biomolecular Methods at the same University. Her research is now focused on the metal-catalyzed synthesis and photophysical properties of (aza)indole-based compounds.
Ana Rita Reis was born in 1999 in Setúbal, Portugal. She obtained her BSc in Chemistry from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa in 2020 and her MSc in Bioorganic Chemistry FCT-NOVA in 2022. She is currently a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Maria Manuel Marques from FCT-NOVA and Prof. Dr. Edward Anderson from Oxford University. Her research focuses on the preparation of N-heterocycles via cyclotrimerization approaches.
Beatriz Isabel Filipe Dedeiras was born in 2000 in Évora, Portugal. She obtained her BSc in Biochemistry from FCT-NOVA in 2021 and her MSc in Bioorganic Chemistry in 2023 from the same institution. He is currently in a PhD student, under the supervision of Prof. Maria Manuel Marques from FCT-NOVA. Her research is focused on the synthesis of electrophilic sources of nitrogen through hypervalent iodine reagents, with further application in the synthesis of unnatural amino acids.
Gabriel Rocha was born in 2002 in Setúbal, Portugal. He obtained his BSc in Biochemistry from FCT-NOVA in 2023 and is currently obtaining his MSc in Bioorganic Chemistry from the same institution, under the supervision of Prof. Maria Manuel Marques. His research is related to the preparation of hypervalent iodine reagents.

He obtained his BSc in Applied Chemistry from FCT-NOVA in 2023 and is currently obtaining his MSc in Bioorganic from the same institution, under the supervision of Prof. Maria Manuel Marques. His research is related to the synthesis of N-heterocycles by a bimetallic approach.
