Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. High School NJROTC

The NJROTC Program provides secondary school students with naval education and training, as well as leadership and citizenship development. The program is taught by retired Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard officers and enlisted personnel, and emphasizes the development of informed and responsible citizens, respect for authority, leadership potential, and personal honor, among other things.  The program also promotes high school completion, higher education, and community service, and provides information on the military services as a possible career.  The program is conducted at accredited secondary schools throughout the nation, and is open to students in grades through  who meet certain eligibility requirements.

The NJROTC Program goals are to instill in high school students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.  These goals are met by teaching specific objectives based on the core values of the United States Navy:  HONOR, COURAGE, and COMMITMENT.
