Want to know more more about how "you" can be found on the web? You'll take what you've learned about digital footprints and shadows. Combine your shelfie, bio statement and social media account and create a digital biography, (it could be in private mode).

You: Now about my "shelfie"

Me: I was looking through the list of participants...

Me:.....I decided to find out a bit more about each person and I googled your name

You: Oh no,. OMG. What embarrassing things did you find?

Me: Don't stress. The occasional reference to your name on a website

Me: I was looking for any digital traces that connects you and your work as a librarian

Me: Looked at your profile picture and status. Have you ever thought of adding a shelfie

You: Is it necessary to have photos, bio-statement, status updates and other digital traces?

Me: A digital bio opens up new was to connect

You: I do have an email address and always answer emails

Me: Have you thought of taking it further. What about using your shelfie to create a professional profile on Whats-app, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram?

You: Let me think about it. Not sure about putting myself out there?

You: Where do I start>

Me: Caution is fine. You can enable privacy settings so your profile isn;t public

You: Thanks should I follow you?

Me: Great. Whatever platform you are comfortable with and whatever privacy setting you choose

You: And once I have written up my profile, uploaded my shelfie, posted it to a platform?

Me: Look at the "My digital bio quiz link and see how good your profile is looking

You: Great. One day you'll google me and I'll have digital footprints all over the web

Me: A public digital bio is a way to link your library work and your digital expertise.

Me: An opportunity to introduce yourself to other mlibrarians. A way to develop your career

You: Of course

Me: You can also leave other digital foorprints in places like Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook etc
