After completing the mliteracy workshop, you now have the option to show what you have learned. Then you can call yourself a mlibrarian. You can also show your new status with a set of digital badges. Think of badges as if they were "electronic certificates". They are intended to act as evidence that you have applied what you have learned in the workshops.

What is a digital badge?

Badges are a way to recognize certain skills and achievement. Think of scouts or guides. These boys and girls l earn and acquire a range of badges that show that they can perform a skill. Digital badges are another way of showing these skills and knowledge. But we will use electronic media to showcase your achievements to the world

What is the reason for digital?

Digital badges are electronic certificates. They act as

• an online method for showcasing your skill set
• digital evidence for others (colleagues, managers etc) to refer to
• indicate how up to date your knowledge is

What do badges mean for my career?

Most badges are not a qualification. They

• are entirely optional
• do not carry any formal credit
• are not subject to the same rigour as formal assessment

What's in it for me?

If you would like to develop yourself professionally, then digital badges offer you a flexible way to learn. By participating in this badging programme, you will be able to

• demonstrate your continued interest in mliteracy .
• practice skills that you learned in the workshop.
• let others know what you learned in the mliteracy workshop

One last question...Who put this all together?

This site is a part of a mliteracy project that Derek Moore has put together with two mentors: Lance Eaton and Sandhya Guness . Mentorship is a part of the Open Education for a better world - Mentoring program. The mliteracy project is supported by the Goethe-Institut.
