Accessibility between Hotel and Venue
Elevators are located throughout the Civic Center and at multiple points in the connected skyway system. Please note that certain sections of the skyway may pose challenges for those with mobility impairments, due to inclines with a steep grade, especially in areas such as:

Between the Rochester Public Library and the Civic Center
For the safest and most accessible walking route between the Kahler Hotel and the Civic Center, we HIGHLY recommend using the sidewalk along 2nd St NE/SE. See the pink route on the map below! This route includes pedestrian call buttons with voice notifications at every intersection. While the skyway is available, some sections have uneven surfaces or inclines that may be difficult to navigate, and other street/sidewalk routes may have uneven pavement, manual doors, and crosswalks without stoplights.

Quiet/Parent's Room
A dedicated Quiet/Parent's Room is available on the 1st floor of the Mayo Civic Center, near the main box office and Suite 101. This space includes tables, chairs, and access to electrical outlets (no fridge). A code is required for entry, which can be obtained from at the Civic Center's Security desk on the 2nd floor.
The Rochester Public Library also offers a Resting Room for your use during public hours (Wednesday-Thursday: 10 AM–8 PM, Friday: 10 AM–6 PM). Located near the entrance, the room is equipped with a chair, footstool, and mini-fridge. Please see the library staff at the Public Service Desk for access.

Accessible restrooms are available throughout the Mayo Civic Center:
2nd Floor (near skyway): Men’s and Women’s restrooms are located near the elevators.
2nd Floor (near Rochester Art Center): Men’s and Women’s restrooms are available, with an adjacent gender-neutral restroom.
1st Floor (near river): Two men’s and two women’s restrooms, along with a nearby gender-neutral restroom.
1st Floor (under main stairs near skyway): Two connected women’s restrooms near the elevators.
1st Floor (near Presentation Hall): One men’s and one women’s restroom
Sensory Kits & Space
Sensory Kits & Space
Sensory kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Mayo Civic Center’s security desk (2nd floor). Individuals or caregivers can check out kits by leaving an ID, which will be returned upon the kit’s return. Each kit includes noise-canceling headphones, a feelings card for communicating emotions, and various fidget tools. For those needing a quiet space for sensory breaks, a designated area will be available for calming down and decompressing.
