About

I am currently a Data & AI Researcher at Intesa Sanpaolo in Turin, Italy. Prior to joining Intesa Sanpaolo, I was a Research Scientist at the CENTAI Institute (2023–2026). Previously, I worked in Japan as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project (2017–2020) and as a Research Associate at the University of Tokyo (2020–2023). I received my Doctor of Engineering degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2017.

Research

My research develops computational foundations for trustworthy and socially responsible decision-making in complex networked systems. I address three fundamental challenges: discovering meaningful structures in networks while accounting for fairness, diversity, and representation, designing effective interventions in networked systems, and making reliable decisions when relevant information is incomplete or uncertain. Methodologically, I employ graph algorithms, mathematical optimization, and machine learning to design scalable methods with provable quality guarantees and strong empirical performance. My work is motivated by real-world applications in which algorithmic decisions have important societal consequences.
