The Crew
Katy has been a Mitre Player for a long time (longer than some of her cast have been alive!) but this is her first foray into directing for them, as normally she would have been fighting to be front and centre at the bee!!
She loved this show when she first saw it on Broadway and has loved working with the team to bring these charming characters to life, and the crew for transforming the hall yet again and whisking us away from the UK.
She hopes some of you may recognise some bits of you or family members in the spellers and enjoy the new words you may learn!
Sit back, think of the definition, and definitely try and use it in a sentence!
Colin’s Trinity education began in 1965 when the new school building at Shirley Park was brand new – indeed, not quite finished! He appeared in many drama productions there (Waiting For Godot was a favourite) and, on leaving Trinity in 1972, he co-founded The Mitre Players.
Colin has performed on-stage, as Musical Director, or in the band for countless productions over the past 51 years. Several times he has said “never again” but here he is once more! Being now retired from the day job, he is loving music and drama being once again purely a hobby – so much less pressure! He has also enjoyed sharing rehearsals with so many younger Mitres whose time it is to step up. Never again!
Paul is delighted to be back choreographing for the Mitre Players, having previously choreographed The Wedding Singer and Boogie Nights. Paul is known for challenging the cast with his choreography, and this show is no exception! However, this fantastic cast have stepped up to the challenge brilliantly!
In recent years Paul has begrudgingly accepted that his dancing days are probably over, so has ventured into the world of plays, the last being The 39 Steps in 2022.
