The Cast
Drew
Tom has taken time out of his professional musical theatre career to perform in this production for the Mitres. He is doing them a favour because they were struggling to find someone with the right hair for the part. He is generally not a diva, but does feel uncomfortable when he has to mix with the ensemble (peasants) backstage! Tom is no stranger to this kind of music, having been in his own band since the age of 4, although the notes he has to reach in this show have been a challenge (please be reassured that he isn’t in pain when he sings - it’s a natural reflex… honest!). Tom hopes you enjoy every minute of this madness and encourages the audience to drink every time they hear the phrase ‘I wanna Rock’
Sherri
Megan has always wanted to be in a rock musical and was delighted to be cast as a character who shares the same name as her Dad’s favourite tipple. She has found trying to look ‘sexy’ whilst secretly praying that she doesn’t face-plant in front of everyone a real challenge, and she urges the audience not to ACTUALLY pour sugar on her - it’s messy and could attract wasps. Megan currently serves time on the Mitre Committee, as part of her community service order, and raises 3 beautiful children to make better life choices than all of the characters in this show. She has to thank her son, Barnaby, for helping her learn her lines… if she doesn’t, he won’t tidy his room for a month! Megan hopes you enjoy rocking out with us tonight!!!
Lonny
Narrator. Sound guy. Filth merchant. David is thrilled to be playing Lonny – the goateed gremlin who breaks the fourth wall and most HR policies. Described as the unholy spawn of Jack Black and a bottle of Jäger, he’s been with the Mitre Players since he was a kid, but this is his biggest, sweatiest role yet. He’s just come off stage as clean-cut Emmett in Legally Blonde – now he’s free to be loud, lewd, and legally questionable. Fun fact: his real-life sister plays Sherrie. Even more fun fact: yes, the jokes make family dinners deeply uncomfortable. Rock on.
Dennis
It's good to be back on stage with the Mitres for a Summer Tour, having directed their last year's award winning Young Frankenstein at The Minack! Always up for a challenge, Kevin found it easy to embrace the heavy metal 80's themes, as he remembered most of them from the 80s! (Unlike the rest of the cast!!)
Rock On!
Hertz
Sam has now filed for German citizenship as this is now his fourth German part in the space of 365 days. In three years time you may see him playing for the German football team alongside Musiala!
Sam has thoroughly enjoyed working with this talented cast and is thrilled to be back touring with the Mitres for the third time.
Franz
Simon is thrilled to be part of the Rock of Ages cast, playing the fabulously camp German, Franz. He’s loved every moment—especially belting out “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” with his new blonde locks. It’s been a hilarious, unforgettable rock and roll ride with an amazing group of people!
Justice
Laura has played a streak of morally grey divas over the course of her time with the Mitre Players, and the part of Justice is no exception. When she was told she would need fishnets, a collar and chain lead, a whip, and a Cher wig she informed the costume department rather sheepishly that she may already own 3 out of 4 of those items…
Stacee Jaxx
Calum Roy is a British singer-songwriter who first came to fame as vocalist for Deep Purple mark III on the Burn and Stormbringer albums and went on to success with his own band Whitesnake whose hits include “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love." He has also released numerous solo projects, a collaboration with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Paige and provided the voiceover introduction to the original production and cast album of “Rock Of Ages”... Oh, no, wait. Actually, all that was David Coverdale.
Constance
Kate is jazzed to play Constance Sack, the hard-hitting reporter who falls head-over-heels for rock god Stacee Jaxx—and also moonlights as a stripper, because why not diversify? She’s living proof that you can be both emotionally vulnerable and covered in rhinestones. Big love to the cast, crew, and anyone who’s ever made poor romantic choices involving a man in leather pants. Rock on and read responsibly!
Mayor / Ja'Keith
Peter has learnt a great many things during this production. He now won't stop believing that roses have thorns when he goes again, on his own; and that he wants to rock, but isn't going to take it. Well he was going to, but not anymore. He has also found that putting wigs on the correct way round is, in fact, a lot harder than it sounds...
Regina
Meet Penelope—our flower-power freedom fighter and fierce-as-hell Regina (with a hard “G!). By day, she’s busting bad guys in bell bottoms; by night, she’s belting protest ballads under a disco ball. Part cop, part diva, all sequins, she’s here to save the Sunset Strip—one jazz hand at a time. You do have the right to remain fabulous, and anything you say can and will be remixed into a glitter-fueled musical number. Peace, love, and subpoenas, darling. 🌸💃
Waitress 1
Alex is Waitress #1 at the Bourbon Room by day and a star stripper at the Venus Club by night—because why not have two jobs that require serious multitasking and excellent balance? She’s mastered serving drinks with one hand and stealing the show with the other. Huge thanks to the cast, crew, and anyone who’s ever asked, “Is this your real job?” Spoiler: yes. Tip generously!
Mother / Ensemble
Hey everyone! This is Elke's second Mitre production, and she's so pumped to be part of it. She just wanted an excuse to rock out, and let’s be real — this is the perfect reason! Having lived through the 80s, she is loving getting to relive all the neon, big hair, and totally tubular vibes. It’s like a time machine, but with more glitter.
Hope you all come ready to rock with us! Be cool, stay groovy, and let’s make this show totally rad!
Father / Joey Primo / Ensemble
Marcus has always wanted to go back to his childhood and perform in a musical set in the 1980s. Sadly for him, however, it is one about Rock and not one about Bananarama, Big Fun, Tiffany and Brother Beyond. If you know, you know…. That said, he is loving the vibe and deliciousness of being in another Mitre show.
Thank you to everyone involved in helping us actors get this to the stage. Especially the Production crew, who's work, dedication and skill behind the scenes always amazes him.
He would like to dedicate his roles in Rock of Ages to his wonderful children Callum, Elfina and Rose.
Ensemble
Emma is a versatile stage performer best known for her living room’s groundbreaking production of ‘Les Mis.’ Her dog gave the performance a stellar review of apathetic sighs. For her role in ‘Rock of Ages,’ Emma trained for many months at a top pole dancing school, only to find out this was unnecessary. As her first Mitre Players show, Emma has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know everyone and is excited to show Croydon and the Isle of Wight what we’ve been working on.
Ensemble
This is Sarah’s 3rd show with the Mitres and is having an amazing time with them once again, having previously toured with them at the Minack for Young Frankenstein and Our House. Rock of Ages rehearsals have been the most amazing fun and with the best people. Sarah loves this show with all the music and of course costumes, make up and big hair!
Sarah is used to performing and has been part of many shows with Oxted Musical Theatre Company, ELOC, Epsom Players and TOPS. Performing is one of Sarah's passions and she cannot wait to entertain and rock with you.
Ensemble
As a certified Mitre Player virgin, and 5 years off the stage, Ed has been counting down the days to getting back to performing and having his girlfriend grind on him in front of an audience of 200. The nature of this show has been helpful in breaking down the social barriers when meeting new people, as you might expect from bum slaps and nipple jokes. All jokes aside, it has been a joy for him to be a part of this company and to get back to sharing his talent and gift with the people of Croydon and the Isle of Wight. Enjoy!
Ensemble
Libby loves the theatre. She has enjoyed playing a variety of classical and contemporary roles with different groups in the UK and Europe since her teens, and joined the backstage crew of the Mitre Players for Young Frankenstein last year. This time she joins the on stage gang!
Ensemble
Kim has been a Mitre Player Since 2018, so has a few shows under her belt now.
She has had to dig deep to find her inner Rock Chick to choreograph as well as perform in this show.
As an OAP, let's see if she manages to get up off the floor gracefully in the Stripper Club number 😅!
Ensemble
Nicky is living proof that spandex, stilettos, and a whole lot of hairspray never go out of style. She’s been shimmying, high-kicking, and headbanging her way through musical theatre since shoulder pads were genuinely fashionable — and she’s not about to stop now. Let’s Rock!
Ensemble
Kate is a maple syrup-fuelled Canadian who shreds the stage in Rock of Ages as ensemble badass and sleazy producer with a mullet, a dream, and zero HR training. She’s one of the few cast members who pronounces “Bourbon Room” correctly, and she won’t shut up about it!
When not lurking in mini skirts and fishnets, she rocks the ensemble as a headbanger and a very passionate (but deeply confused) protestor.
Previous roles include “Mad Scientist #7” and “Giant’s Wife.” She wants to thank shoulder pads, spandex, and David Coverdale for making this dream possible.
Ensemble
Livvee-Rae is 18 years old, which means they are far too young to have actually heard any of these songs on the radio when they first came out and instead has been forced by their parents on car journeys over and over again to listen to the soundtrack. So, there was no better opportunity for Livvee to get introduced to The Mitre Players than to take part in this kickass musical, which they have loved!
Ensemble
Hey dudes! Caroline is stoked to be part of this rocking 80s Mitre Musical Rock of Ages!
She was air guitaring to all these head-banging tunes the first time round, and now she "Wanna Rocks" with you all and have "Nothing but a Good Time"!!!
