Smart materials for near future......
Metallogels are intriguing smart materials with potential applications encompassing diverse fields. These materials inherit optical, magnetic, redox and catalytic properties from the constituent metal.
Our goal is to design purpose-built metallogels for applications in healthcare, catalytic applications, energy conversion & storage systems. We mainly use low-molecular weight gelators (LMWGs) for our endeavour, with the aim to impart self-healability in the metallogels. Stimuli-responsive behavior of the gels has fascinated us to explore their potential applications as chemical sensors/ probes in the field of pollutant sequestration, environmental remediation.
Waste to Wealth......
Since biomass is the fourth largest source of energy in the world, it is envisaged to contribute greatly towards sustainable future.
We are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in harnessing this renewable organic carbon resource in nature, which endows us with unique advantages in producing value-added products including fuel additives, polymer precursors and so on. Our aim is to provide routes to supplement the constantly depleting fossil fuel resources. We are motivated to make a difference, and invite you to learn and explore with us.
Green....Smarter......Better
Metal-free systems are becoming relevant in contemporary research especially from a catalytic stand point; owing to their inexpensive and environmentally benign nature, especially considering the traces of residual metal impurities present in the products from a metal-catalysed reaction.
We strive to design metal-free organic systems, both ionic and covalent, that would be effective in catalyzing important organic transformations, and in photo/electrocatalytic water splitting reactions. their intriguing properties and morphological aspects, are of interest to us as well, that could culminate into adsorption & separation of toxic pollutants.
