At the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo, Ph.D. training is conducted through joint doctoral programs with leading universities, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Science and Technology of China, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Students admitted through these programs are jointly supervised and receive their doctoral degree from the corresponding partner university upon successful completion of the program.
Our group aims to provide a supportive and research-focused environment for doctoral students. Students will have access to advanced experimental facilities, research assistantship support, and strong mentorship throughout their training. The group emphasizes high-quality academic research, careful experimental work, and long-term career development.
We believe that doctoral training should help students grow into independent researchers. Students will be encouraged to lead their own research projects, develop strong technical skills, publish high-quality papers, and build an international academic profile. For students interested in future academic or postdoctoral careers, we will actively support applications to strong research groups and institutions in China and abroad.
The group maintains an efficient and student-centered working style. We value focused scientific discussion, regular one-on-one mentorship, and concise group meetings. Administrative support is available within the laboratory, allowing students to focus primarily on research, experiments, data analysis, writing, and career development.
Outstanding research assistants and interns who demonstrate strong research potential may receive priority consideration for future doctoral positions in the group.
EIT Ningbo has established joint doctoral training programs with top Chinese universities, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Science and Technology of China. These programs follow a dual-supervisor model, allowing students to benefit from the academic resources and mentorship of both institutions.
Depending on the specific program arrangement, students may complete part of their training at the partner university and part of their research at EIT Ningbo. Upon graduation, students receive the doctoral degree and graduation certificate from the corresponding partner university.
EIT Ningbo also offers a joint doctoral training pathway with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This program follows a dual-supervisor model and provides students with the opportunity to receive research training across both institutions.
Students typically spend part of their doctoral training at PolyU and part of their research period at EIT Ningbo. Upon successful completion, students receive a doctoral degree from PolyU, equivalent to the degree awarded to students who complete the full program at PolyU.
